My buddy in Grand Rapids lent me his $300 impact and now my $80 one feels like a toy
Last month I was doing brakes on my wife's van in our garage in Kalamazoo and my cheap impact just would not crack the caliper bracket bolts loose, so I called my buddy who drove over with his big name brand gun. He hit the trigger once and both bolts spun right off, took him maybe 4 seconds total, and I just stood there feeling dumb with my little 1/4 inch guy in my hand. So my question is, do I actually need to spend that kind of money for home garage work, or is there a middle ground around $150 that will get me close to that kind of power?
