My dyno pull hit 412 whp on a stock block and everyone says I'm crazy for stopping there
Everyone on the forums keeps saying you should push until something breaks, but I hit 412 whp at the dyno shop in Garland last Saturday and decided that was it. Stock block, stock head, just bolt ons and a tune, and the thing pulled clean all the way to 7,200 rpm. My tuner said most guys with my setup keep going to 480 or 500 and then come back three months later with a hole in a piston. I watched a guy at the same shop last year blow his motor at 463 whp chasing a number he saw on YouTube. So yeah, I'm stopping at 412 and putting the money toward brakes and tires instead. Anyone else here actually quit while they were ahead, or am I the only one who thinks a reliable 412 beats a broken 500?
