Had doubts about that new crimping tool everyone's talking about

I was skeptical about the Klein crimper that's been popping up in forums for the last few months, figured my old one was fine. Then my buddy let me borrow his on a job last week and I finished a harness in half the usual time. Has anyone else found a tool they swore off until they actually used it?

Nah, the old style works just fine if you know what you're doing.

Pretty sure Klein makes pliers, not a dedicated crimper, that was probably a different brand.

Klein makes pliers, yeah, but their electrical crimpers are actually pretty good for the money. Had a pair of their crimping pliers for years, used them on solid and stranded wire. Only issue was the ratchet jammed up after a lot of use in dusty attics. If you want a dedicated tool that lasts forever, go with a Klein Crimp-All or a Thomas & Betts, but the pliers work fine for basic stuff.
