Hot take: torque specs on cannon plugs are overrated and I'll die on this hill
Had a ramp guy at DFW last week swear the cannon plug on a pitot heat circuit was finger tight from the factory and he wouldn't let me torque it to spec, so I let him sign it off. Two flights later it backed out and the heat failed at 18,000 feet, and now I write the torque value on the connector with a paint pen before anyone touches it. Anyone else get pushback from ops guys who think a quarter turn past snug is a real unit of measurement?
A quarter turn past snug, lol. That's the same energy as "eh, looks about right" from the guy who signs your paperwork. Good call on the paint pen, two flights is a real quick way to learn that lesson.
