My workbench oscilloscope vs the cheap handheld one, night and day
After 6 years of squinting at a palm-sized scope for signal checks, I finally hauled my old bench unit back to the hangar. The difference showed up on an MD-80 rudder actuator feedback line last Tuesday. Trace was clean, no guessing on the noise floor, and I found a bad ground strap in about 10 minutes instead of 40. Anyone else find that the portable ones only work for simple continuity, or am I just spoiled now?
