PSA: dropped $400 on a used Fluke 1587 and it just saved my butt on a King Air
Was chasing a intermittent pitot heat fail on a B200 out of Wichita last week and that insulation tester found a chafed wire behind the panel in about 10 minutes. Any of you guys running the cheaper megohmmeters instead, or is the Fluke worth the coin?
Bought the cheap one first and it lied to me twice on a 1900. Spend the money, the Fluke pays for itself the first time it keeps you from pulling a wing panel for nothing.
