Yeah that publisher-first method honestly changed everything for me too, I had nearly 500 issues spread across a dozen long boxes and could never find anything. Alum powder is legit, I've used it on hydrangeas that looked worse than that. Trim the stems at a sharp angle, dip the fresh ends in alum powder, then put them in boiling water for 30 seconds before moving to cool water. Got about half to perk back up that way. Have you tried the hot water trick yet?

Hate that feeling when everything's clicking and then it all goes sideways. I've had good luck with Harris regulators, they cost a bit more but I've got two years on mine without any issues yet.
