Unpopular opinion: a guy at REI in Salt Lake City said skip the Lost Coast Trail in April and he was dead wrong
I did it anyway, got 4 straight days of sun on the 24 mile stretch, and now I want to know if anyone else has ignored trail advice from an outfitter and been glad they did.

Man, good for you for trusting your gut on that one! Outfitters mean well but they're usually just covering themselves so nobody comes back mad about rain. Four straight days of sun on the Lost Coast in April sounds like the trail gods owed you a favor, and you cashed it in big.
