Best backyard day of the summer vs worst - what's your split?
Last Saturday was perfect, 78 degrees, grill going, kids splashing in the $20 pool from Target, neighbors came over for burgers. But Tuesday the city sent a letter about our fence being 2 inches over the property line near Maple Street, now we gotta rip it out or pay a $300 fine. Anyone else have a backyard day that went from great to garbage fast?

Nah man I gotta disagree hard on this one. Getting a letter about a fence is literally a gift wrapped solution to a problem you didn't even know you had. That 2 inches could save you thousands in property line disputes later when your neighbor decides to sell and wants a survey done. Plus now you get to rebuild it however you want - taller, better materials, maybe even a gate on that side you always wanted. The $300 fine is nothing compared to the hassle of fighting a boundary disagreement in court. Honestly I'd be psyched about this, push comes to shove you're just improving your yard and your property value for pocket change.

Eh not quite lol, a $300 fine usually comes with a city violation and you gotta pay for the new fence too.
