The paver sand I switched to after fighting weeds for 2 seasons
I used to use regular joint sand from Home Depot every spring, then spent all summer pulling crabgrass out of my patio cracks. Last month I tried polymeric sand at $38 a bag for my 400 sq ft area, and honestly the difference is night and day, it hardens like concrete. Has anyone else made that switch or found a better way to keep weeds out of paver joints?

Wait, did it ACTUALLY harden like concrete or just feel kinda firm?

Goodness, I wish I could say it hardened like cement, but really it was more like that weird, sticky dough you make with too much flour. I tried to get a spoon out of it and I think I lost the spoon to the sink. Now there's just a permanent lump in the drain that glares at me every time I do the dishes. Concrete would at least give me an excuse to call a plumber, but this is just my own baking failure staring back at me.
