Forgot to add baking soda to my banana bread batch last week

I was making 4 loaves of banana bread for a church bake sale in Springfield and completely spaced on the baking soda. They came out flat and dense like weird banana pancakes. Has anyone else forgotten a key ingredient and tried to salvage it after baking or did you just toss everything?

Man that's rough! I did the same thing with a batch of muffins last month, forgot the baking powder entirely. They ended up like sad little hockey pucks but I just ate them all anyways with extra butter to mask the shame.

Yeah I once forgot to put sugar in a batch of chocolate chip cookies. They came out looking fine but tasted like salty cardboard. I tried to salvage them by dusting powdered sugar on top but that just made them look fancy and still taste terrible. My roommate ate like six of them though said they were "rustic" which I think is code for messed up.

Try adding a pinch of salt next time, it balances the sweet.
