Tried a new clipper blade and my fade came out patchy as hell
Honestly, I switched from my usual Wahl blades to one of those cheaper off-brand gold ones last week because my regular supplier was out. Big mistake. The teeth seemed fine out of the box, but the second I started on a fade around the ears in Denver, it started pulling and left these weird stripes in the skin fade. I had to go over everything twice with my trimmers to fix it, which took an extra 20 minutes and the guy was late for work. Ngl, I learned my lesson about sticking with what I know works, but has anyone else had a blade that looked sharp but just didn't cut smooth?

Did you check if the blade was zero gapped before you ran it? I learned that one the hard way after I bought a knockoff brand and it chewed up a client's neckline so bad he looked like he had rug burn. My own fade was patchy for a week after I tried to fix it on myself with the same junk blade, so I feel your pain on the extra 20 minutes. Cheap blades always seem to have some weird quirk, like they're sharp enough to cut but not consistent enough to blend. Ive got a drawer full of those things now that I keep meaning to throw out but never do, probably because I hate admitting I wasted the money. Stick with your usual stuff man, the saved time is worth way more than a few bucks on a blade.
