Bought a $260 pellet smoker that barely hits 200 degrees
I grabbed one of those off-brand pellet grills from a local discount store in Tulsa last month, figured it was a steal. Even cranked to max, the internal temp never got past 210, so brisket was basically a steamer. Anyone else get burned by a cheap smoker that just can't hold heat, or did I just pick the wrong brand?
I mean, 200 to 210 is low but pellet grills in that price range are kinda known for running cool, so it might not be totally broken. Have you tried a different temp probe or checked if the lid is sealing right? Could be the thing just runs cold and you have to work around it instead of tossing it.
