Why does nobody admit the $300 pellet tube beats babysitting splits all night
I fought the offset crowd for years on this. Spent $289 on a 12 inch pellet tube and a bag of hickory pellets after a guy at the Kansas City Royal told me to quit being stubborn, and my overnight pork butts have not gone dry once since. Last Saturday I ran two butts at 250 for 14 hours, slept 7 of them, and the bark came out better than my stick burner ever managed at 3am. The purists say it is cheating, but I am not waking up every 45 minutes to feed splits just to prove a point. What is the real reason guys refuse to try one on a long cook?
