Can we talk about the 2am rabbit hole where I rebuilt my whole week around one crash?
Two Fridays ago I was on my couch in Sacramento at 2am, three days behind on a big editing job, and my laptop just froze mid export and died. I sat there for a minute doing nothing, then I did the dumbest thing and just started working again on my phone, answering messages and moving files around at 3am. By Saturday I felt like a zombie and I couldn't remember if I ate dinner on Thursday or not. So I tried the opposite approach the next week: I shut the laptop at 6pm every day no matter what, took one full day off, and let two deadlines slide by a few hours. My output went up, not down, and the weird stress knot in my chest went away. Here's where I want people to weigh in: is the grind itself the burnout or is it the hiding that we do while grinding? One side says just push through the busy season and rest later, the other says rest is what keeps the work good in the first place. I honestly don't know which is true for everyone, so tell me what worked when your own 2am moment hit.
