My time tracker app glitched and I lost 3 weeks of billable hours

Happened last Thursday. I trusted the 'auto sync' feature and never checked until I went to invoice a client in Austin. Turns out the app stopped recording after my laptop went to sleep. I had to reconstruct everything from memory and emails. Took me 5 hours to piece it together, and I still shorted myself about $400. Any of you freelancers manually log your hours somewhere separate, or am I just paranoid now?

Honestly, 5 hours to fix a $400 mistake is a bad trade in my book. I'd rather spend 10 minutes a day jotting times in a notebook than trust any app that synced when my laptop was closed.
