PSA: My paperless switch lifted a weight off my shoulders

I remember when my desk was buried in paper for every freelance job. Then I began scanning all my files and storing them online. For example, I now email invoices instead of printing them. This stopped those panic moments when I couldn't find a key document. I do get nostalgic for the old way with physical planners. But having less clutter really helps my mind stay clear. Starting with just your receipts or notes can make a difference.

That weight off your shoulders thing is totally true. Less paper around really does calm your mind down. I switched to digital invoices and it made everything easier.

Ever wonder what happens when your digital files get just as messy as the paper was? I made my own little nightmare by just scanning everything and dumping it into one giant folder called "scans." Scan everything but give those files real names right away. I learned the hard way after searching for a parts diagram I just called "scan1." Now I name things like "Invoice_Smith_Oct2024" so I can actually find them. A messy digital pile is just as bad as a paper one.
