Client told me my invoices were 'too confusing' and I fought them on it for weeks before finally changing my template

Oh, have you tried just telling them the total and then offering to send the breakdown if they ask? @river_thompson that's exactly what I ended up doing after someone admitted they just threw away my itemized list without reading it. Some people really do not want to see every little charge and that's fine, I just ask them up front now. It saves me the headache of explaining stuff they never even looked at. Plus it makes me look way more flexible than I actually am.

Just realized I hit 50 repeat clients without even noticing

Huh, I mean it's cool and all but are we really acting like a few repeat clients is some kind of groundbreaking business revelation? Feels a little much for something that pretty much anyone with a decent gig would have happen eventually.

Hit 500 active contacts in my LinkedIn network last week and it changed how I pitch

500 connections changed my Atlanta outreach game too. The algorithm definitely bumps your profile visibility once you hit that number. It is a weird psychological shortcut but it works.

My standing desk converter just gave up on me mid-meeting

Nah, 6 weeks is plenty of time for stuff to fall apart. You'd be surprised how fast things can go south with bad planning or worse luck. Done a few projects myself and watched them unravel in half that time. It's not about the timeline, it's about what's actually happening on the ground. People act like more time means better results but that's not always true when the foundation is shaky from day one.

Had a client in Phoenix demand a full refund after I finished the entire website 3 weeks early

That bit about them claiming the colors looked "off" on their phone really gets me... they waited until the very end to complain about something that small, right when you finished early. I had a client once who loved everything until I sent the final invoice, then suddenly the font was "too small" on their tablet. It's like they hunt for any excuse once they have the files. The signed completion form is smart, I started doing something similar after a guy tried to say I never delivered the login info even though I had the email receipt. Some people just don't want to pay, plain and simple.
