Rant: Why does the "hustle harder" crowd never talk about the slow months?
I saw this happen with my own scheduling habits over the last 10 months. I used to wake up and check emails first thing, reply to anything within 5 minutes, and take calls anytime before 6pm. That meant I was never fully off, even on weekends. Then in February I switched to checking email twice a day, once at 10am and once at 3pm, and I turned off notifications after 5pm. It took about 6 weeks to feel normal, but my response time went from 5 minutes to maybe 2 hours, and guess what, not a single client complained. Actually, I got more work because I wasn't frazzled during calls, and one client told me I seemed "more present". Did anyone else find that setting hard boundaries actually improved their client relationships instead of hurting them?

Honestly feels like people confuse being busy with being good at what you do. Slow months are just part of the rhythm, not a failure.
