The 4 hour rule from a guy in Omaha who ran his own design gig for 12 years
Back in March a freelancer named Rick told me to cap my workday at 4 billable hours no matter what, and I laughed at him because I was doing 9. Six weeks later I was sleeping 4 hours a night and snapping at my kid over nothing. So I tried his rule for two weeks, tracked it in a $2 notebook, and my output barely dropped, 22 hours billed instead of 31, but I stopped dreading my inbox. Turns out the last 3 hours of my old day were mostly me scrolling and feeling guilty. Curious if anyone else has tried a hard cap like that and where you drew the line.
