Warning: the coffee shop on 5th in Portland had 6 freelancers and 4 of them looked totally fried
Stopped in for a latte on Tuesday around 2pm and counted six people with laptops. Four of them had that glazed look, you know the one. One guy had been at the same table since I walked in at noon, still on the same screen. Here is the thing I keep going back and forth on. Is working from a shop like that a good way to feel less alone, or is it just burnout with extra steps? Half of me thinks the company helps. The other half thinks we are all just sitting near each other while quietly falling apart. Where do you land on this?
