Had to pick between chasing a $600 invoice or eating the cost, and the drive won
Got a client in Tucson who owes me $600 for a patio pour back in March, and he stopped answering texts after the second reminder. My two choices were drive 90 minutes each way to knock on his door, or just write it off and move on. I went with the drive, mostly because I had a slow Tuesday, and he acted like he had never seen me before when I showed up. Turns out his bookkeeper had been sitting on my invoice for 6 weeks because she thought it was a quote, not a bill. Has anyone else had a client's own office staff be the reason you went unpaid?
