Spent 90 minutes on hold with a payment processor over a $78 fee
My invoicing platform charged me a $78 late fee for a payment that cleared on time. Called their support line and got bounced between three departments before someone found the glitch. The guy on the phone admitted their system tags payments wrong when the invoice number has a dash in it. Has anyone else dealt with automated billing systems charging fees for their own mistakes?

Right? It's like they think they've got everything wired tight and then something as dumb as a little moisture brings it all crashing down. Always the small stuff that trips people up, not the big disaster they spend all their time worrying about.

Dash in an invoice number breaks their system. That's amateur hour stuff. You'd think a company handling payments would test for basic punctuation. They probably coded it in some hurry and never looked back. Good thing you caught it before they cashed that fee. Always keep screenshots of everything with these platforms.
