Why does nobody talk about hitting 45 days on a single invoice?
Last month I sent invoice #2047 to a shop in Denver for $3,200 and just watched it sit there for 45 days. I finally called the owner and he said his bookkeeper only runs checks on the 1st and 15th, so if you miss the cut you wait two more weeks. Does anyone here bill on a set schedule like that, or do you just keep pestering until they pay?
Ugh, invoice #2047. I feel this. Net 30 is basically a joke when a place does the 1st and 15th check run thing. I had a client in Austin that did the same and it drove me nuts because you can't do anything about it. My move now is to just call on like day 25 and ask what their payment cycle looks like before I even send the bill. Saves me from sitting there staring at my inbox like an idiot for a whole extra month.
