Everyone's rewatching old sitcoms instead of new stuff lately, and I kinda get it now.

Saw a friend's Netflix queue filled with 2000s reruns and realized we're all just craving comfort laughs instead of keeping up with the latest dramas.

Totally get this. I must have seen every episode of Seinfeld a dozen times. It's not about the jokes anymore, it's like hanging out with old friends where you don't need to pay full attention. My brain is too fried after work for a new plot, so the familiar stuff just fills the room nicely. That or old Simpsons seasons, every time.

Notice how we all seem to cycle back to the same few shows. Is it just the humor, or is there something else about rewatching stuff like The Office or Friends for the tenth time? Like, you already know the jokes, so the comfort has to be coming from somewhere else. Maybe it's the predictable structure and low stakes compared to a new, intense series. What specific old sitcoms do you keep going back to when you need that fix?

Parks and Rec is my go-to for that cozy, low-stakes background noise.
