My brother told me to skip the first season of Parks and Rec back in 2012.
He said it was rough and the show really found itself in season two. I finally tried it his way last month and binged the whole series in three weeks, starting from season two. Anyone else get a piece of show advice that completely changed the game for them?

Yeah, that advice is a total lifesaver for that show.

Disagree completely, that advice ruins the fun. Figuring out a show's twists on your own is the whole point. Take that mystery show everyone's talking about, if someone just tells you the big secret ending, why even watch the last three episodes? It turns the experience into just checking off a list instead of being surprised.

Totally get where you're coming from, Oscar. For that specific show, the surprise is everything. Pauljackson is right that the advice helps some people, but honestly, skipping spoilers is the move. It's like, once you know the big twist, you're just watching actors say lines. The fun is in putting the pieces together yourself, even if it means being confused for a bit. Letting someone spoil it turns the whole thing into homework.

Remember when I thought spoilers were the worst? Pauljackson's advice totally changed my mind for that show.
