My TV died 20 minutes into the Lost finale and I finished the whole show on my phone in bed
So about two years ago my girlfriend got me into Lost and we were binging it every night after work. We got to the last season and the finale was queued up on the living room TV, and 20 minutes in the screen just went black with a little click sound. I tried every input, unplugged it, did the whole hold-the-power-button reset thing, nothing. She was already half asleep on the couch so I grabbed my phone, pulled up the rest of the episode, and finished it holding this tiny screen like six inches from my face. Honestly it was kind of a weird way to end a show we had watched together for months. The next morning I called a repair guy out of curiosity and he quoted me $380 just to look at it, which was almost half what the TV cost. So we ran to Best Buy in Westminster that afternoon and got a cheap 50 inch for like $260 on sale. Now when we start a new show I always check if it is streaming on my phone first, just in case. Has anyone else had a TV crap out at the worst possible moment, and did you bother getting it fixed or just replace it?
