Feedback from a retired librarian on my pacing completely shifted how I structure book club discussions
She told me I was rushing through the middle section of every novel just to get to the argument at the end, so now I spend 15 minutes just on chapter 5 of the book at our meeting and it turned a flat debate into something people actually argued about - anyone else get a criticism that forced you to slow down and change your whole approach?

A friend got told she interrupted her book club too much and had to tape her mouth shut for the first twenty minutes.

I mean, maybe suggest she set a timer on her phone to remind herself to pause and let others speak.
