Snake oil or not? The guy at the Austin plant swap swore by coffee grounds for his tomatoes
I figured it was garden folklore, but after 3 months on my raised beds in Austin the pepper plants actually look greener than the ones I left plain. Anyone got a real reason it works, or did I just get lucky with the rain?

Wait, did you actually test it side by side, or is it just the pepper bed you changed? Peppers can green up from a dozen things, like more sun or slow-release nitrogen kicking in, so that rain streak might be the real story.
