Spent $85 on one of those "rare" monstera seeds online, got a pack of regular bean seeds instead
Ordered what was supposed to be a Monstera obliqua seed pack from a seller in Portland back in March, paid $85 plus shipping because the listing had all these photos of fenestrated leaves. Waited 6 weeks for it to arrive, planted them in sterile mix under a humidity dome, and three of them sprouted into plain green bean plants within 9 days. Filed a claim, seller vanished, and the site won't refund me since it's past 30 days. Now I'm split on whether seed sellers should be banned from this kind of listing or if buyers like me just need to stick to cuttings and established plants. Where do you all land on buying seeds versus clones for stuff that's easy to fake?
