Chose between cinder block and poured concrete for my garage footer, went block
I had to pick between cinder block and poured concrete for the footer on my detached garage out in Reno. The quote for poured was $2,800, block came in around $1,100 so I went with block to save money. Three months later I've got two hairline cracks running up the corner because I rushed the mortar and didn't let it cure slow enough in the heat. Now I'm wondering if I should have just paid up for the pour. Any of you run into this when you're doing your own work?
