My trowel slipped and the whole corner came down in 4 seconds
Working a retaining wall up in Tacoma last Tuesday, I was doing a return corner and got sloppy on the cross joint. Pulled the frog back a hair too early and the corner block twisted right out, taking two below it with it. Mortar was still soft enough that I just chipped it all off and reset, but my foreman walked over and said 'looks like you're paying for that one in rebar.' Took me 20 extra minutes and the wall held fine, but has anyone else had a corner slide on them when the mix is a little too wet?
