I finally tried the overnight bus from Hanoi to Hue and saved $18, but I lost my sandals
Last Tuesday I booked a sleeper bus instead of a $22 train ticket and paid just $4 for the ride. The seats fold flat so I actually slept, and I woke up in Hue with my bag still under my feet. But somewhere around the 2am rest stop I stepped off to pee and my sandals vanished, so I walked around the old city barefoot for a day. The $18 I saved basically went to a new pair, but the night bus beat the train on time. Is there a trick to keeping your shoes on your feet at those roadside stops?
