I just read that the average tourist in Rome spends $120 a day, which is INSANE to me
I found that stat in a travel blog's breakdown of city costs. How are people even doing that without trying to save money?

My last trip to Rome... the gelato alone was a small fortune.

One museum ticket" is the part that got me, like @carr.luna said. Those entry fees are no joke and they're just the START. It's so easy to blow past a hundred bucks without doing anything fancy.

Look at the price of a sit-down lunch near a major site, plus a coffee and a pastry. Throw in one museum ticket and a basic dinner. That's already pushing eighty bucks before you even buy a single souvenir or take a taxi. A nice dinner alone can wreck a budget. It adds up so fast without you even trying.
