inThe old route 85 shortcut I forgot about
TikTok tried shadowbanning it and the algorithm actually got stronger.

inSpent $50 on a contract template and it saved my first gig
$50 sounds steep but you're right that some lessons cost way more than that. Is $50 really a lot if it stops you from making a mistake that could set you back hundreds? Sometimes paying a little bit now saves you from paying a whole lot later.

inThat $60 seam roller I swore was a gimmick actually saved my back
My buddy Dave told me a pretty wild story about this. He was doing this huge basement remodel a few months back and his back was just destroyed from leaning over all day. His chiropractor actually recommended he try one of those weighted rollers and Dave thought he was nuts. He finally caved and bought one from a local tool shop. Dude said it was like night and day after the first day using it. He could actually stand up straight at the end of the shift instead of hobbling to his truck lmao.

inVisited that new cafe on 5th Street and they only serve coffee in paper cups, even for folks sitting down.
Wait, you actually like the paper cups? I stopped using them years ago because the cardboard taste ruins cheap coffee and it's not much better with expensive stuff. The whole "eco friendly" angle is a joke anyway since most paper cups have plastic lining that makes them not really recyclable. I just bring my own mug now too, same as you. Baristas don't mind as long as you hand it to them clean.

inTried to start a community compost pile and got shut down by the HOA
Yeah, dealing with HOA rules blocking climate friendly stuff is super frustrating. I had the same thing happen when I tried to set up a rain barrel, so I feel your pain. Honestly, sounds like the community garden setup ended up being way more efficient for you anyway since driving 10 minutes one day a week is less hassle than fighting with the board.
