I used to pack a huge suitcase for every trip until a bus driver in Lisbon laughed at me

He said 'you pay more to move that than you do for your seat' and I realized all those extra bag fees over the years were a total waste. Anyone have a good packing list for a 10-day trip in just a carry-on?

My buddy had the same thing happen in Rome... he was lugging this giant duffel onto a train and an old local just shook his head and said "you live like a snail." He swears by packing cubes now, rolls everything. For ten days he'd just do like five shirts, two pants, and wear the bulky shoes on the plane.

Live like a snail" is too real. I used to be that guy with the bursting backpack, looking like I was moving countries for a three day trip. I once packed three different jackets for a weekend because I couldn't decide on the weather. My back still hurts thinking about it. Now I just force myself to use a small bag and make it work.

Honestly that old guy in Rome had a point. Carrying too much stuff just weighs you down and makes the trip harder. Try laying out everything you think you need, then cut it in half. You really don't need a new outfit for every single day. Wearing the heavy shoes on the plane is a total game changer too, saves so much room.
