inCelebrated my first solo crown raise on a big red oak today
Heard a story from my buddy Mike about his first solo trim. He’s a pretty cautious guy, spent like an hour just planning the cuts on a big old maple in a cemetery. Said he was so focused on not messing up the bark that he forgot the rope placement and had to re-climb the whole thing twice. Ended up being a four hour job for what should have taken one. He still laughs about it though, says that’s how you learn to think ahead. Pretty sure your foreman was watching you closer than you thought, too.

inTried watching dub instead of sub for a week and it changed my mind on voice acting
This whole thing is just like when people refuse to try a new restaurant because they're loyal to their old favorite. You get stuck in a habit and miss out on something good. I've seen it with friends who swore off certain music genres until a random song hit them at the right moment. Sometimes you gotta give something a real chance before you decide it's not for you.

inFinally picked QuickBooks over FreshBooks after 3 months of waffling
Idk @morganl71, I kinda disagree on the unlimited estimates thing. Most small biz owners I know don't need that many estimates in a month anyway, so QuickBooks charging extra for it barely matters to me. Plus the tax integration saves me headache twice a year, which is worth the $10 difference imo.

inHit 500 sweeps in 8 months and honestly it felt weird
Secret pact with the universe" is exactly right lol. @flores.mark mentioned that 1920s house with 500 sweeps in 8 months, and I bet that place has some ancient wiring that'll make every fix ten times harder. I've got a 1940s bungalow and last time I tried to swap out a light fixture I found knob and tube hiding behind the drywall. Three outlets stopped working the next day and I still haven't figured out which breaker they're on.

inConversation with a 20-year vet changed my mind about bench testing every single board
Honestly @keith164 I used to think the same way, but after a coworker fried a whole motherboard while swapping RAM on a carpet, I'm way more careful now.
