I thought the envelope thing was for old people, then I counted my drive-thru trips
A guy at my church kept pushing this cash envelope system and I smiled and nodded for like a year. Then in January I actually added up my drive-thru receipts and it was $214 in one month, all little $7 and $9 charges I never thought about. So I pulled $120 cash for eating out, put it in an envelope, and when it was gone it was gone. I ate a lot of sad turkey sandwiches that first week but I still had money on the 28th. Does cash actually work for anyone else or did you all just switch to an app?

That drive-thru number hit hard, reminds me of when my buddy found $180 in ATM fees just from "quick" stops at the gas station ATM.
