My $340 grocery bill at Kroger made me try the envelope thing for real
I was at the Kroger on Vine two Saturdays back and my total came to $340 for what felt like two bags of stuff. That number bugged me so bad I went home and pulled out actual envelopes that night. I put $120 cash in one for food and left the debit card in a drawer, and I swear I spent $95 that first week without feeling like I was missing out. My problem was always grabbing extra stuff I didn't plan for, and cash makes that way harder. Does anyone else do cash only for groceries, or do you use an app to track it?
