Spotting extra yard sales around town cut my furniture budget in half
I saw three new yard sales on my street last weekend. Picked up a solid wood desk for twenty dollars. What local finds have helped your budget?

Man, that reminds me of my friend's crazy find last year. She spotted a solid wood dresser just left out in the rain, figured it was ruined. Dried it off, gave it a light sanding and some new stain, and now it looks brand new in her guest room. It's wild what people will just give up on. She saved a couple hundred bucks and kept a nice piece out of the dump.

That's both awesome and kind of sad at the same time. So much perfectly good stuff gets tossed out every day. What a waste.
