The moment I caught myself buying bulk spices I already had at home

Last month I was inventorying my pantry for a big meal prep and found 4 jars of cumin I'd bought on different trips to the store over a year. That's $12 right there wasted because I never checked what I had before shopping. Has anyone else dealt with the same blind spot in their grocery budget?

Were you able to return any of them or did you just stash them in the back? I always wonder if stores will take spices back when they're still sealed.

@anthony_jackson31 I used to think stores never take those back, but a manager told me most places will return sealed spices for store credit no problem. Changed my whole view on stocking up during sales.

Found myself in the same cumin club last month, @anthony_jackson31, except I had five jars and used two to make chili before realizing I could've just bought one.
