Unpopular opinion: Packing my own lunch every day saved me HUNDREDS last month
I was spending way too much on takeout from places near my garage during breaks. It felt easy but the costs were sneaking up on me. So I began preparing all my lunches at home on Sundays, just simple stuff like sandwiches and leftovers. After one month, I counted up the difference and it was over $200 still in my pocket. That money is now going straight into my emergency fund, which feels AMAZING. Has anyone else tried a small switch that added up to big savings?

Riley's comment about the daily burger being a bad investment hits the nail on the head. We trick ourselves into thinking a small daily treat is harmless, but it's quietly robbing future you of real financial security. That's money that could be fixing a car flat tire or covering a doctor's visit without stress. It's wild how much power we give to routine without even questioning it.

Just wait until you calculate the interest on all those missed fries.

I guess my $12 daily burger and fries habit wasn't the investment I thought it was. Who knew basic math could be so scary?
