My sister called my bullet journal a scrapbook and it stung
She was looking over my shoulder last weekend while I was setting up my weekly spread. I had washi tape borders, a little doodle of a coffee cup, and some colored headers. She said it looked like a scrapbook for schedules. At first I got defensive. But then I looked at my older journals from a year ago. They were way simpler. Just a rapid log and a monthly overview. I started adding all this extra stuff because I saw pretty layouts online. Now I am wondering if I am just decorating instead of actually tracking what matters. Does anyone else feel like their journal got too artsy and lost the point?

My buddy did the same thing and ended up rage throwing her tape collection in the trash.

Washi tape took over my life for 6 months. I had like 15 rolls. Every spread had these elaborate border things. Then I realized I spent more time picking stickers than actually writing stuff down. I dumped all of it last month. Just a black pen and a ruler now. Feels way better honestly.
