Shoutout to the two hours I lost trying to draw a straight monthly grid by hand
Last Sunday I sat down to set up my March monthly spread and figured it would take 20 minutes tops. Four tries and 2 hours later, I had a page so smudged I just taped a fresh one over it. The problem was my ruler kept slipping on the slick paper and my columns were off by a few millimeters each time, which made the whole thing look lopsided. I tried a pencil guide line first, then painter's tape on the edges, then finally just counted squares on the dot grid and it came out fine. Funny thing is the grid I drew by counting dots took 8 minutes once I stopped overthinking it. Now I'm wondering if I should just cave and buy a stencil, but part of me likes the messy hand-drawn look. How do you all keep your monthly lines even without losing your mind?
