I finally got a smooth gloss finish on my cabinet

I always had trouble with finishes looking streaky. This time, I put on thinner coats and sanded lightly between each one. The door came out with a even, shiny look. It feels good to see such a clean result. Just a small win I wanted to share.

Smooth as glass, huh? I wish my first attempts looked that good. I used to put on so much finish, it looked like I was frosting a cake.

Know exactly what you mean about the streaks. I fought that for years on every project. The thin coat thing was a total game changer for me, just like you said. It feels wrong to put on so little finish at first, and all that sanding is a pain, but man, when that final coat dries smooth as glass... it's the best feeling. My last table top looked like it was covered in plastic wrap.

Did you try a foam brush? I found that helped me cut down on brush marks a ton.
