Family should respect tools or buy their own.

That part about family respecting tools is right, but it misses why he keeps doing it. He probably doesn't know how to sharpen them. Next time he borrows one, give him a five minute lesson on the stone. Either he learns a skill and stops ruining your stuff, or he finds it too much work and stops asking.
