My old boss in Asheville told me to quit measuring twice and just build a story stick, and it hit me 20 years too late
I was cutting a face frame for a kitchen island and measuring each rail, and he said to grab a scrap of 1/4 inch ply and mark off the openings instead. Took me two minutes to make and saved me from recutting a rail when I mixed up 14 3/16 and 14 5/8. Do you all still use story sticks or is it all tape measures and math now?

Story sticks are like making a shopping list instead of trying to remember everything while wandering the aisles.
