The old finisher at my first cabinet job in Boise gave me one tip about glue squeeze-out and I blew him off for 3 kitchens
He kept telling me to let the glue tack up for 10 to 15 minutes before I wiped it, and I figured he was just slow and set in his ways. I did it my way on the next 3 kitchens, wiped it wet, and every single joint showed a smear under the stain that no amount of sanding would fix. Now I'm curious who else got this same advice, or did you guys find a better way to deal with squeeze-out on stain grade work?

Man, that tack up thing is real. I used to wipe right away too and had the same smears, now I just let it sit and hit it with a scraper once it firms up, way cleaner. Takes some patience but your old finisher knew what he was talking about.
