Yeah, exactly. Honestly I've noticed that too. Like when you fix a weird printer jam for someone or just know how to reboot a router right. That genuine relief and thanks from someone feels way more solid than a bit of extra cash sometimes. It's a cool little human moment in the middle of a normal day.

Nah, I gotta push back on the "genuine relief and thanks" feeling more solid than cash. I mean, the thanks is cool for a minute, but it doesn't pay my electric bill. That extra tip money is a real, physical thing that shows they actually valued my time and skill. Maybe it's just me, but a thank you feels good in the moment, but it's the money that helps me later. The cash is proof they didn't just see it as a favor.
