Found a rat's nest of old knob and tube wrapped around the coax path, took me 4 hours to reroute safely. Ever have a simple drop turn into a full archaeology project?

Wait, they found a whole shoebox of letters and just stopped working? That's amazing. I would have done the exact same thing.

I mean, knob and tube is usually from before the 40s, not the 20s. Still a huge pain to deal with though.

Yeah, finding old stuff in walls is wild. I pulled out a 1920s newspaper once that was used as insulation.

My buddy found a whole shoebox of 1940s love letters up in his ceiling once (he was just trying to run a new cable). That stuff just pulls you right in, you know? He spent the whole day reading them instead of finishing the job.
